CONCLUSION

After doing my research into the psychology aspect of a sportsman, I wanted to finish my research with answering the research question and see how this can help me in becoming a better sportsman.

How does confidence affect a sport player's performance in a game ?

The question above is what my research question. Through my research I was able to answer this question. There are 3 main aspects that can really effect a sportsman's performance in a game, those are Imposter Syndrome, self believe and perfectionism. Imposter Syndrome is a mental problem that is common in a lot of sports man and this problem really creates self doubts which leads to a psychological pattern in the brain which of course lead to bad performance. Self believe is a really important aspect for a sportsman, this is something everyone needs and can really help someone push them to do their best and having self believe can push your confidence. Perfectionism is when someone believes that they are perfect in their field , this has both positive and negative effects. Perfectionism can really motivate you to work even more harder as a perfectionist sets really high standards. This also means that a sportsman puts a lot of pressure on themselves and this could lead them to not performing to their capability. Some really big Cricketers like Virat Kohli and Shane Warne are legends of the game that have to consider these as well.

How I am going to use my research ?

As I play sports my self, I want to make sure I use my research in a way that can benefit me. I will now start considering all these factors of psychology when I train or when I am playing a match. I will now really focus on training my subconscious mind, I will do this by surrounding my self with people that have a positive effect on me and that can motivate me to do perform even better. This will really keepme away from problems like imposter syndrome, self believe and perfectionism.
